10 years ago I stopped using sugar, I found it took a long time to get used to the taste of my coffee without sugar and I was expecting it to be the same trying to switch to black coffee. I know it’s only my first cup of black coffee but I actually like it more than I do with milk. So much so that I was motivated to leave this post. More simple, much better.

As usual, an excellent and well-argued article. I spent 20 years making coffee I didn’t like and putting milk in it to turn it into coffee I did like (I kicked the sugar habit over 25 years ago, realising it was seriously bad for my health). It’s only in the last few years, and through writing the Coffee Spot , that I’ve discovered that I can make coffee I like without having to put anything in it.
The method of preparing these three black coffees, namely Black eye, Red eye and Dead eye, are similar except the proportion of espresso added in each. These 3 black coffees are prepared by adding shots of espresso with dripped coffee and do not contain sugar or milk. In “Black Eye Coffee” two shots of espresso are added with dripped coffee; in Red eye, a single shot of espresso is added with dripped coffee and in Dead eye coffee, three shots of espresso are added with dripped coffee.

So, how if you feel bored with the original black coffee? If you really want add something to your coffee, you can add the low calorie sweetener and low fat milk. You can also add soya milk instead of fatty dairy milk. In addition, you better choose the light or medium roasted coffee bean, since the dark roasted coffee bean may not give enough substance needed to burn fats. The chlorogenic acid may damage during the heating process of dark roasted beans.
